We are seeking a part-time Startup Legal and Financial Specialist to assist with critical legal, financial, and operational compliance tasks in alignment with U.S. and California laws.
Role Overview:
As a Part-Time Legal and Financial Specialist, you will take ownership of essential processes that ensure operational and financial compliance for our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a versatile professional with expertise in startup operations, finance, or legal advising who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced startup environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll and Tax Compliance:
- Manage payroll processes, including calculations for deductions and filing tax forms.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. federal and California state tax regulations.
Legal and HR Support:
- Provide guidance on U.S. employment laws and draft employment agreements.
- Support the establishment of compliant employee benefits and contracts.
Fundraising and Equity Management:
- Advise on equity distribution and assist in managing cap tables.
- Prepare and review legal documents related to fundraising activities.
Operational Compliance:
- Research and implement best practices to comply with U.S. and California small business regulations.
- Collaborate with external consultants, including accountants and legal advisors, to address complex issues.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in U.S. payroll, tax compliance, and/or legal advising.
- Strong understanding of California-specific regulations.
- Familiarity with startup operations, including fundraising and equity management.

Janus Innovation Hub is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Content Creator/Copywriter & Social Media Admin Intern to develop and manage engaging content across various platforms. This remote internship is unpaid and requires a minimum commitment of 3 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create high-quality content for the website, social media platforms, newsletters, and blogs.
- Write articles, case studies, and other materials that reflect Janus Innovation Hub's mission and voice.
- Edit and proofread content to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Plan, schedule, and post content on social media platforms, ensuring a consistent online presence.
- Engage with followers, respond to comments, and foster a sense of community.
- Collaborate with the team to brainstorm and execute content strategies that enhance brand awareness.
- Monitor and analyze content performance, providing insights for continuous improvement.
- Stay informed about industry trends to introduce fresh ideas into the content strategy.
