We are seeking a part-time Startup Legal and Financial Specialist to assist with critical legal, financial, and operational compliance tasks in alignment with U.S. and California laws.

Role Overview:

As a Part-Time Legal and Financial Specialist, you will take ownership of essential processes that ensure operational and financial compliance for our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a versatile professional with expertise in startup operations, finance, or legal advising who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced startup environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll and Tax Compliance:

  • Manage payroll processes, including calculations for deductions and filing tax forms.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. federal and California state tax regulations.

 

Legal and HR Support:

  • Provide guidance on U.S. employment laws and draft employment agreements.
  • Support the establishment of compliant employee benefits and contracts.

 

Fundraising and Equity Management:

  • Advise on equity distribution and assist in managing cap tables.
  • Prepare and review legal documents related to fundraising activities.

 

Operational Compliance:

  • Research and implement best practices to comply with U.S. and California small business regulations.
  • Collaborate with external consultants, including accountants and legal advisors, to address complex issues.
